You can use BRIO to present images, text, and other 2D assets in Augmented Reality.
Watch: Add 2D assets to your AR presentation.
Import 2D Image
Select the upload tool and then select "Plain Image" from the options list. Select a .PNG or .JPEG image from your computer.
The image will be placed in the centre of the canvas.
Adding Text for AR
Currently, the BRIO text tool does not support Augmented Reality presentation (we're working on it!). To add text that will be visible in AR, upload your text as a .png image with a transparent background.
Check scale + orientation
Objects should be placed at the 0,0,0 position to be visible in AR. Make sure the front of your objects faces the direction of the blue arrow on the gizmo (the z-positive axis). This is the forward-facing direction in AR. Learn more AR setup tips in our Augmented Reality Guide.
Move the camera as needed so the objects are visible in the preview frame.
Check your object's scale using the life-sized reference height
Turn on the reference height tool in the objects panel to see how your objects' scale compares with the life-sized model. This is the size they'll appear in AR. Use the scale tool to adjust as needed.
Set Camera Limits
In the camera properties panel, turn camera limits ON. Set horizontal and vertical rotation limits to ensure your images are only viewed from the front.
Once your 2D assets are set up, you'll be ready to publish your augmented reality scene!
View this scene in AR by selecting "view in your space" and scanning the code with your mobile device. Check out our Augmented Reality Guide for more tips.
