Get to know your way around the BRIO builder so you can find the tools you need.
The window where you view your scene while creating is called the Viewport
1. Life Meter
2. Main Camera - the camera orbits the scene to capture the final view. Its orbit path is indicated by a dashed purple line.
3. 3D Canvas - The space where you’ll build your scene. The grid represents as ground level Objects will drop on the grid by default and can be moved in any direction.
4. Orbit flag- indicates the camera’s point of focus (the center of its orbit). When you add an object to the scene it will automatically drop here.
5. Camera Preview - The camera preview window shows you what is being captured in the main camera. When editing your scene, be sure to keep an eye on this window.
In general, tools for adding and organizing elements in your scene are found on the left side of the workspace.
The Tools Menu
The tools menu allows to add objects to your scene, or upload 3D models and media.
The objects panel lists all the objects in your screen and allows you to rename, group, and toggle their visibility.
Go to the library panel to access saved objects and materials, as well as Brio’s library of materials and primitive objects.
The right side of the workspace contains controls for editing your scene and preparing it to publish. These panels change contextually, depending whether an object is selected
When an object is selected, these panels display:
1. Object Properties (view + edit an object's position, scale, pivot point, and settings)
2. Material Editor (where you can add materials from library, upload your material maps, edit + save)
3. Behaviour Panel (add interactions and animations to objects)
When objects are deselected, these panels display:
1. Camera properties ( + camera settings, post effects, and rendering settings)
2. Sky Light Panel (where you can add environmental lighting, edit the background)
3. Camera Behaviours (add a path of waypoints for the camera to follow)
Undo/Redo + Settings
The top right corner of the viewport contains undo/redo buttons as well as the settings menu. Here you can set visibility for reference objects, like the grid and the man (used to represent human height). You can also turn off and edit snapping settings for added control when moving or resizing objects.
Preview + Publish
Finally, the bottom right corner contains the preview + publish buttons. You can always enter preview mode while working to check how your final scene will look in the viewer. Clicking export will open publishing options.
